Douglas built a special trailer to service the D-558-2, the Rocket Servicing Trailer, or Mother Trailer. The trailer had a canopy to partially shield the aircraft from the desert sun; a gaseous nitrogen supply to make the rocket engine safe for transport; and an emergency shower unit to decontaminate any personnel who might accidently be exposed to the highly caustic hydrogen peroxide on the Skyrocket that was used to power the rocket-engine turbo pump.
