787 Dreamliner in Static Test Frame
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner static test airplane is in position for static testing only 1,000 feet away from where it was built in Everett, Washington. This 787 structure is shown being loaded into a sophisticated testing fixture, that will subject the airframe to extreme loads. Engineers will analyze the results to ensure the first 787 is ready for flight test. The data gathered will also be used by the Federal Aviation Administration in certifying the airplane.
