MD-95 in Flight
The MD-95 will be powered by two advanced high-bypass ratio engines, the BR715 produced by BMW/Rolls-Royce. For the MD-95, this engine is rated at 18,500 pounds of takeoff thrust, with an increase up to 21,000 pounds for the MD-95-30 Extended Range. The engine features lower fuel consumption, reduced exhaust emissions and significantly lower noise levels than the power plants on similar-size aircraft now in service.
