First 757-300 Nose Assembly
February 3, 1998--Mechanics at the Boeing plant in Wichita,Kansas, work to complete the first forward section of the fuselage for the Boeing 757-300. The nose section, which was rolled out of the Wichita factory Feb. 3, will be shipped to the Boeing plant in Renton, Washington, where final assembly of the airplane will occur. The forward section has been strengthened because theairplane is longer and can carry 20 percent more passengers than the 757-200. Delivery of the first 757-300 is scheduled for January 1999 to Condor Flugdienst of Germany.
