757-200 Special Freighter Assembly

Employees at Boeing Airplane Services’ Wichita Modification Center remove a section of the 757-200 fuselage during the conversion of the passenger airplane to a freighter. A 20-foot-by-22- foot cargo door surround structure replaces the removed fuselage section. Boeing will provide 44 757 Special Freighters to launch customer DHL Worldwide Express. The 757SF can carry 60,000 pounds (27,210 kg) of cargo more than 2,000 nautical miles (4,630 km) with a volume payload capacity of more than 8,000 cubic feet (226.5 cubic meters).
