The nose section for the first of 134 Boeing commercial jet transports on order in 1957 was moved from its jig and placed in position at the head of the production line at the Boeing Plant in Renton, Wash. near Seattle on Feb. 18, 1957. This first production airplane was delivered to Pan American World Airways late in 1958, and went into service early in 1959.
