First 707 Manufacturing, Wing Stub
The wing stub or center section for the first Pan American World Airways Boeing 707 jet transport is shown in Boeing Airplane Company's Transport Division plant as final inspection was made prior to joining it with the right and left inboard wing sections. The joining operation, completed at the company's Transport Division plant in Renton, Wash., brought the completion of the first production 707 airplane one step closer. At the time this airplane was built, 151 Boeing 707 commercial jet transports were on order by 13 of the world's leading airlines.
