Boeing Heliwing on Tarmac at Sunset
The Boeing Heliwing vertical-takeoff and -landing (VTOL) UAV took off and landed from a tail-sitting position, before changing from hovering to fixed-wing forward flight. Only one demonstrator was built, which crashed in June 1995 during its sixth flight while attempting its first change back from forward flight to landing hover.
