Boeing AH-6U During First Unmanned Flight

The AH-6U milestone flight June 30, 2006 at the U.S. Army’s Yuma Proving Ground included a lift-off to a stabilized hover followed by a programmed 15-mile mission route that included six different waypoints prior to an approach to a stabilized hover and precise landing. The demonstrator mission payload for the first flight was more than 741 pounds not including fuel weight. The aircraft could have added an additional 550 pounds of payload.
