FH-1 Phantom in Flight

The FH-1 Phantom, McDonnell's first Navy plane, was equipped with newly developed jet engines that used engine exhaust to boost performance. It was the US Navy’s first all jet aircraft to be ordered into production and the first jet to operate from the deck of a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier.
