Boeing Manufacturing in Red Barn May 23, 1918

Manufacturing facilities in 1918 were simple and filled with craftsmen and women who made parts by hand. A former shipyard was The Boeing Company's first home. Affectionately called the Red Barn, it is now part of the Museum of Flight in Seattle. In the Red Barn, engineers worked upstairs while builders and accountants worked downstairs.
