377 Stratocruiser Flightdeck with PAA Crew

The crew in the 377 Stratocruiser control cabin had more space than they were used to. Designers arranged seating, controls, equipment, and groups of instruments to make it easier for crew members to work together and to give them freedom of movement and excellent visibility. The entire control cabin was altitude conditioned, with controlled humidity and temperature. Pilot's seats were adjustable for height, position, and angle of recline, and equipment was on centrally located consoles. The crew had their own toilet compartment, including washbasins with hot and cold water. Dubbed the "pilot's parlor," the Stratocruiser flight deck bore little resemblance to those in older transport planes.
