307 Flight Engineer's Station

Inside the flight deck, the 307 Stratoliner made room for a flight engineer's position, the first American landplane to do so. The engineer was responsible for maintaining power settings, pressurization and other subsystems, leaving the pilot free to concentrate on other aspects of flying the aircraft.
