The McDonnell Douglas MD-90 was available with a liquid crystal display in the 1990s. The cockpit featured six 8-inch by 8-inch screens to provide information on navigation, flight management and systems status to the flight crew. The cockpit offered higher reliability,a reduced number of parts, and was similar to the McDonnell Douglas Advanced Common Flight Deck.
