Last Mission over Kiska

February 13, 1943 marked the last day B-17s were used in the Alaska theater in combat. Afterwards, the B-17s were redeployed in the South Pacific. While in Alaska, the B-17s were used as reconnaissance aircraft and bombers, and were outfitted with AVC "whisker brooms" search radar antennas.
