F-15E Strike Eagle Dual Role Fighter
F-15E Strike Eagle (1986 - ) is the world's most capable multi-mission fighter. The F-15E carries up to 23,000 pounds of air-to-ground weapons and also has the air-to-air dog fighting capability of the original F-15. The dual-role Strike Eagle made its first flight on December 11, 1986, from McDonnell Douglas facilities at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. The F-15E has two crewmembers: a pilot and a weapons system officer. Its high-technology navigation and targeting system allows the plane to be flown at high speeds and low altitudes, at night and in bad weather, to hit ground targets with pinpoint precision. Its air-to-air weapons include the latest radar guided and heat-seeking missiles, plus a six-barrel 20mm cannon with 940 rounds of ammunition.
