The B-25 was perhaps the most versatile aircraft of World War II, nearly 10,000 were produced. The B-25 became the most heavily armed airplane in the world, was used for high- and low-level bombing, strafing, photoreconnaissance, submarine patrol and even as a fighter.
In 1943 B-25s were offered to the US Navy and given over to the US Marine Corps who flew them in anti-shipping and close air support missions.
