Model XP-936 Export Fighter
The XP-936 of 1932 was the prototype for the P-26 Peashooter. Three XP-936s were built with a view to eliminate the so-called "service test." The project was started in January, 1932, and comleted in May of the same year. The plane had all-metal wings, moncoque fuselage and cantilever metal tail. It had a top speed of 222 mph and ceiling of 31,600 feet.
