Model 281 (Export P-26 Peashooter)

The Boeing 281 of 1936 was the export version of the United States Army Air Corps' P-26A, and was the same except for such equipment as radio, guns, camera gun and oxygen installations on which approval for export was witheld by the US government. Eleven were build for the Chinese government and one for Spain. P-26C production also continued. Specifications: Wing span 28 feet; length 23'7"; weight 2,955 pounds; speed 234 mph; ceiling 28,900 feet; range 635 miles; power, Pratt & Whitney R-1340-27 (600 hp) engines.
