The Boeing MD-10 is a DC-10 converted from a passenger transport airplane to a freighter. MD-10s are modified with a Honeywell VIA EFIS flight deck featuring six LCD screens. The MD-10 flight deck accomodates two crewmembers and shares the same instrument panel layout as the flight deck of the MD-11. The common type rating allows pilots to become qualified to fly the two aircraft interchangeably.
