First Boeing Business Jet 3 Fuselage Sections Joined
In May 2008 Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems began work on the first Boeing Business Jet 3 (BBJ 3), a new, longer-range jet based on the Next-Generation 737-900ER (extended range), which entered commercial service in 2007. An overhead crane operator lifts the joined fuselage into the next work position at Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, Kansas. Spirit will soon load the fuselage onto a rail car for its 2,000-mile, eight-day trip to Boeing's Renton, Washington, Next-Generation 737 final assembly facility.
