Boeing technicians at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida work near a hatch doorway on one end of the “Destiny” laboratory module for the International Space Station. There are two hatches inside the lab. Visible to the left and top are some of the racks. 13 of the lab’s 24 racks are dedicated to scientific experiments. The other 11 will provide power, temperature and humidity control, air revitalization and other support systems for the science racks.
