F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet in Flight

Super Hornet E1, a single-seat model F/A-18E/F, launched with weapons attached from Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD., February 21, 1997. E1 flew with an Aero Servo Elasticity stores configuration, comprised of three 480-gallon fuel tanks, two MK-84 Missiles (HARM) and two AIM-9 Sidewinder Missiles. Although this flight was the heaviest Super Hornet takeoff load to date, the E1 flew as effortlessly as if it were flying clean.
