Boeing Celebrates Rollout of 787 Dreamliner
The all-new Boeing 787 Dreamliner made its world debut July 8, 2007 during a one-hour ceremony held at Boeing's Everett, Washington final assembly facility. Sharing the stage with emcee Tom Brokaw, U.S. journalist and best-selling author, were Boeing Chairman, President, and CEO Jim McNerney, Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Scott Carson, and 787 Program Vice President and General Manager Mike Bair. To date, 677 787 airplanes have been ordered from customers worldwide, making the Dreamliner the most successful commercial airplane launch in history. The first 787 is scheduled to enter passenger service in 2008 with Japan's All Nippon Airways.
