Wideband Global SATCOM - WGS-4 Acoustic Chamber
Prior to containerization and moving to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Boeing technicians prepare WGS-4 for testing inside the acoustic chamber at Boeing’s satellite manufacturing facility in El Segundo, Calif. The test ensures the satellite can withstand enormous acoustic pressures created by the rocket during liftoff. The fourth satellite, the first in the Block II spacecraft, was launched on Jan. 19, 2012, aboard a Delta IV launch vehicle.
