USAF C-9A Nightingale Take off
The C-9A "Nightingale" was used by the U.S. Air Force to transport sick and injured military personnel. The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps flew C-9B Skytrain IIs. Three VIP transport versions, the VC-9C, were delivered to the U.S. Air Force. More than 976 DC-9s were built, including 47 C-9 versions for military customers.
