The heart of the AH-6 Electro-Optical/Infrared forward-looking sight system is the mission computer, which uses commercial off the shelf hardware combined with software based on that used in the Apache Block III. It provides the pilot with flight symbology, page displays, warnings, cautions and advisories, weapons pages and digital maps. Most of its avionics come from the AH-64D Apache Block III, providing 60-70% commonality with the world's most advanced production helicopter. These commonalities reduce training costs, lifecycle costs and simplify field logistics.
