The first Boeing Next-Generation 737-900 tooks off on its maiden flight, heading over Lake Washington near Seattle on August 3, 2000. The flight, which lasted three hours, marked the start of a six-month 737-900 flight-test program. The 737-900 is the largest of the Next-Generation 737 models.
