8000th 737 Delivered, April 2014

The 8,000th 737 to come off the production line in Renton, Wash., a 737-900ER (Extended Range), was delivered April 15, 2014 to United Airlines, chalking up another important milestone for the world’s best-selling airplane. The 737 is the first commercial airplane in history to reach the 8,000th delivery milestone. The airplane features a special logo.

The Next-Generation 737-900ER (Extended Range) is the latest member of the 737 airplane family, the world's best-selling jetliner family. Aerodynamic and structural design changes such as an additional pair of exit doors and a flat rear pressure bulkhead increase interior volume. The airplane is capable of carrying up to 180 passengers in a two-class layout and is certified for up to 220 passengers in a one-class layout.
