Spaciousness was one of the Stratocruiser's most popular features. Its double-deck inverted "figure-eight" body design made it possible for cargo and mail to be loaded into the roomy lower deck while allowing passengers room to stroll around the main cabin or wander down to the luxury lounge. The crew cabin, luxury passenger compartment, dressing rooms, passenger cabin, and galley were on the upper deck. The forward cargo compartment, lounge, and aft cargo compartment were on the lower deck.
