Boeing F2B-1 Wings Prepared for Rail Transport
The F2B-1 fighter never had a chance to prove itself in combat. But it gained a peacetime reputation with the Navy's first aerobatic precision team, the Three Sea Hawks. The team would take off, fly and land with the wingtips of three aircraft tied together by ropes festooned with colorful cloth streamers. This technique was later expanded by the Navy to include a whole squadron of F2B-1s.
