A downed two engine CV-2 Caribou aircraft, one of the largest loads ever carried by the U.S. Army's CH-47A Chinook helicopter at the time, is shown being returned 185 miles to a repair base in Vietnam in 1965. The wings, engines, and parts of the tail section were carried inside two other Chinook helicopters made by the Vertol Division of The Boeing Company. Chinook helicopters recovered millions of dollars worth of aircraft downed in action.
