777-300ER Takes Off on Flight Test from Edwards Air Force Base

A Boeing 777-300ER takes off from Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. The airplane was at the base as part of the new airplane flight-test program. The wide-body Model 777 was the first commercial jet that was 100 percent digitally designed using three-dimensional solids technology. It earned the Collier Trophy for top aeronautical achievement in 1996. The twinjet commercial transport uses fuel efficiently, and its comfortable cabin is very popular with passengers.
