The B-17 was a versatile aircraft performing bomber, search & rescue, reconnaissance, supply, transport, research, and unmanned drone missions throughout every theater of World War II. The B-17G was the final version produced, it incorporated all the improvements from the F model, the “Cheyenne” tail, and featured the distinctive chin turret machine guns under the nose.
