767-300F Cargo Freighter with Cargo
November 25,1996 - The Boeing Company's newest freighter -- the 767-300 General Market Freighter -- demonstrated its cargo-carrying capacity recently at the company's Everett, WA., site. Among the items included in a representative 200-foot-long load of freight were 6,000 pounds of fresh produce, a vintage 1969 Corvette, a 767 jet engine and horses. The versatile freighter can transport 60 tons of cargo more than 3,600 miles and can accommodate all types of containers and pallets -- providing operators with greater flexibility for transferring cargo within their freighter fleets. The airplane is equipped with a unique automated cargo handling system and an environmental control system that makes it possible to transport live animals and perishable goods.
