CH-46C Sea Knight in US Army Livery
The Boeing-Vertol 107 is shown making its first flight on Oct. 24, 1960 at Vertol's Morton, PA facilities. The aircraft is the first twin-turbine helicopter to enter the flight portion of a FAA commercial certification program. Designed to be used by all military services and commercial operators, the 107 can carry 26 to 30 passengers or troops and cruises in excess of 155 mph.
The U.S. Marine Corps retired the CH-46 Sea Knight in August 2015.
