B-2 Composite Outboard Wing Panel
Boeing completed assembly of the B-2 outboard wing sections for B-2 Air Vehicle Number 21, and delivered them on May 3rd 1994 to Northrop, the prime contractor for the B-2 Stealth Bomber Program. The 65 foot long sections, shown here during assembly in the Boeing Developmental Center Building in Seattle, WA are believed to be the largest structural aircraft parts ever made from composite materials at that time. Boeing is responsible for manufacturing the B-2's aft-center and outboard sections, as well as the fuel system, weapons delivery system, and landing gear.
