Boeing A160T with FORESTER Radar
With its vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capability, the A160T was designed to be runway independent and could operate in austere land environments, at sea and in complex urban terrain. Its missions could include ISR, direct attack; communications relay; precision re-supply; and remote delivery of unmanned ground vehicles and unmanned ground sensors. The U.S. military conducted test and evaluation flights of the Boeing A160T Hummingbird unmanned rotorcraft equipped with the Foliage Penetration Reconnaissance, Surveillance, Tracking and Engagement Radar (FORESTER). The FORESTER radar was designed to detect man-made objects and people moving under a triple-canopy forest.
