The Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) consists of 2,849 acres located in Southeastern Ventura County, California. It was established after World War II as a site to test engines for missiles, spacecraft, and rockets and as a testing and research laboratory for energy research. The major focus of our current work at the Lab involves the restoration and environmental cleanup of contamination from the previous activities.
