B-17G Flying Fortress Cutaway

The last version of the Flying Fortress was the B-17G. Produced in the greatest quantity, it included a two-gun turret under the nose for defense against direct frontal attack. At an average cost of $238,329 per airplane, Boeing built 4, 035 B-17Gs; Douglas 2,395; and Lockheed (Vega), 2,250.
