Stearman Kaydet Trainer on the Ground
During WWII, nearly every American and Allied pilot first learned to fly in the PT-13/17 Kaydet trainer, still affectionately called "Stearmans." The Kaydet was the primary trainer for the U.S. Army and Navy, and more than 10,000 were built at the Boeing plant in Wichita, Kansas.
