EPX is a manned airborne intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting aircraft that will replace the Navy’s EP-3 signals intelligence reconnaissance aircraft. The EPX will operate in conjunction with the Navy’s P-8A Poseidon and Broad Area Maritime Surveillance platforms.
