Mt. Adams with Mt. Hood in the Background
This aerial view of western Washington and Oregon, taken from 35,000 feet, reduces the densely-wooded Cascade Mountain Range to mere plush-covered foothills. The snow-capped peak in the foreground in Washington's 12,307-foot Mount Adams. To the upper left is Oregon's Mount Hood: behind and to the right of Hood, and in the far distance are Mount Jefferson and the famous Three Sisters. This striking picture was made by Boeing Airplane Company flight test crewmen aboard a Boeing C-97 Stratofreighter.
