The Delta Clipper (DC-X) project provided the first hard evidence of the feasibility of achieving a low operational cost, totally reusable rocket system. The DC-X demonstrated low cost, routine ground and flight operations as well as the flight characteristics of a reusable, autonomously controlled vehicle using a liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen propulsion system.
