The 777-300ER ( Extended Range ) and 777-200LR ( Longer Range ) are two longer-range airplanes that Boeing has developed to offer airlines additional flexibility in serving the nonstop routes that passengers demand. Launched in February 2000, the two airplanes can fly farther and faster than the competition. Manufacture of the first 777-200LR -- the world's longest range commercial airplane -- is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2004. It will roll out of the factory in early 2005, and shortly thereafter begin a flight-test program. First delivery is scheduled for first quarter 2006.
