C-32A Executive Transport Rollout
SEATTLE, Jan. 30, 1998 -- Sporting newly painted colors, the first C-32A executive transport rolls out of a Boeing paint hangar in Renton, Wash. Boeing is building four C-32A aircraft, which are modified Boeing 757-200s, to replace the U.S. Air Force's aging fleet of VC-137s. The paint scheme, which is similar to that of Air Force One -- a modified Boeing 747-200 used to transport the U.S. president -- required 85 gallons of paint. The most prevalent colors are white, light blue,black and gold. The aircraft was painted using standard Boeing processes, in keeping with the Air Force's desire to purchase the C-32As under commercial practices.
