SPACEWAY(TM) is Hughes next generation broadband satellite network that will provide high-speed, two-way communications for Internet, data, voice, video and multimedia applications. The three Boeing 702 geostationary satellites will be built by Boeing Satellite Systems, (BSS) and will operate in the Ka-band spectrum. The spacecraft are the next generation in satellite communications technology, with approximately 5 to 8 times the capacity of today's satellites. SPACEWAY will enable a full-mesh digital IP network that will interconnect with a wide variety of end-user equipment and systems such as personal computers, servers, local area networks, and home networks. This broadband satellite network will provide a range of innovative applications, enterprise-wide, throughout North America.
