Boeing JSF X-32A Completes High-Speed Taxi Tests
The Boeing X-32A Joint Strike Fighter concept demonstrator successfully completes high-speed taxi tests in Palmdale, CA, moving the aircraft closer to first flight. Boeing JSF chief test pilot Fred Knox put the X-32A through the high-speed tests designed to verify the function and integration of aircraft systems, including steering, braking, engine controls and flight-control surfaces. The runs, at speeds up to 130 knots, were successful on all counts and allowed Boeing to evaluate air data sensors as a precursor to first flight.
