The XPBB-1 in Flight

The XPBB-1, the Sea Ranger, was a long-range patrol bomber built for the Navy. Although the Navy orderd 57 XPBB-1s, only the prototype was completed when wartime strategy shifted to the produciton of land-based bombers. Consequently, the one-of-a-kind prototype was nicknamed the Lone Ranger.
