Scale Model Space Shuttle Gets Finishing Touches

Pre-delivery finishing touches are put on a scale test model of the Space Shuttle Orbiter by employees at Rockwell International Corporation's Los Angeles Aircraft Division. Built for Rockwell's Space Division, the model was used in wind tunnel tests at NASA's Ames Research Center. The model, built to .36 scale, is 38.71 feet long, has a 10 foot wingspan, and is 20.40 feet tall from simulated ground level to the tip of its vertical tail.
